New Faces at SocialB
We would like to take a little minute to welcome our FOUR new team members for 2019!
Who is Ollie?
Ollie joined SocialB at the start of 2019 and comes from a strong background in influencer marketing on Instagram. Don’t be fooled by his age, Ollie has been very busy, combining his love of fashion and entrepreneurship by starting his own small social media consultancy.
Although he describes himself as a “self-confessed perfectionist”, “driven” and “aspirational”, we would simply refer to him as our resident Richard Branson in the making. From going against the grain as a child; aspiring to be a business owner rather than the usual fireman, it is clear that his passion for business and success are in his DNA. There is no task too big, or goal out of reach for Ollie, and it is an infectiously refreshing frame of mind to see. With a core of business, matched up with a calm level head, Ollie has the right recipe for success.
When asked why Ollie picked SocialB as his place of work, he told us that the workplace and company are a great reflection of himself, one filled with opportunity, exploration and a sense of pride in what we do. It is the unification of a flat structure, alongside the encouragement of ideas and feedback from every colleague, with the promise of nothing but respect and full support, that Ollie admires about SocialB. It is the company’s ability to look beyond age, beyond structure, and see pure talent, enthusiasm and drive that has made SocialB a great fit for Ollie.
Who is Gaby?
Gaby (with one b) joined SocialB in February as our resident Credit Controller. It was through an early interest in digital marketing, and background in credit control and accounts that lead Gaby our way. Although her childhood ambitions of being a vet did not manifest, it quickly became evident that Gaby is well placed in the SocialB zoo.
Although only with us a couple of days a week, Gaby brings a ray of sunshine and a fantastic work ethic whenever she graces our office. When asked what most surprised her about working here, Gaby said “just how involved everybody is, they are always willing to let you join in anything that will help with your development or in fact you just find it interesting!”. It speaks volumes that for the short time Gaby has worked with us, she has already recognised the high levels of involvement, collaboration and support we promote and share at SocialB.
Another notable thing about working for SocialB that Gaby loves, is the snacks (don’t we all Gaby). SocialB believes that an office stocked up with snacks is a happy office. We put a lot of focus and dedication on promoting health and nutrition in and outside of the workplace, which ensures our staff are always at the top of their game. Gaby’s new colleagues would call her confident and bubbly and feel that she is another welcome infectious personality in SocialB family. SocialB feels the future looks fun and organised with Gaby on our side.
Who is Esin?
Esin (Erin with an s) joined SocialB at the start of 2019, as the new Training Account Manager. With a past working in Training and Development in the charity sector, she brings knowledge and insight into this role. Although this role is a far cry from her childhood dream of being an astronaut, she very much enjoys the long-game factor of having to put in time and dedication to build and maintain relationships with our accounts. It is the commitment that Esin puts into each of her accounts and partners that makes her feel accomplished, especially when we get fantastic feedback!
Referring to the team as a ‘supportive’, ‘funny’ and an ‘encouraging group’, Esin finds working at SocialB gratifying and fulfilling. When asked what her favourite thing about working at SocialB is, she replied that ‘having such a strong, inspirational female CEO is great to see, and it is something that makes you want to work harder in support of what she and the team have built, oh and the snacks’.
‘It is an atmosphere where the team are treated with so much respect, they honestly are happy to come to work every day and do the best they can do for the company and team’. It is this combination of dedication and genuine support that Esin finds SocialB’s biggest attribute, and the reason she feels such as good fit.
And who the heck is Jack?
Jack is the newest member of SocialB and the digital team, as a Digital Marketing Executive. A native of North Wales, our newest Jack of all trades combines a love of writing, music, reading, and spaghetti, with a cool story of being from the same village as Michael Owen. Although, coming from the same village as this football hero, Jack’s inability to play the sport is not a hindrance on his position within SocialB (although now it is out there, he may never live this down). Though new, he fits in like a puzzle piece and we expect to see great things from him in the future; we will not be asking him to hit the road.
When asked why Jack chose SocialB, he had been “holding out for something that felt right” in the job market, and that after some research and his interview, he felt it was the right place for him. He admires the high standards SocialB employees hold themselves to, alongside its transparency. Jack says the best thing about working for SocialB, is the variety. Unlike his previous in-house projects, Jack has a lot more variation in his client portfolio and welcomes the challenge.
The combination of all of this and what Jack refers to as a “friendly” environment, ensures us that we are doing a good job. Jack said, “Everyone has made a point of going out of their way to make me feel welcome and lend a hand when needed”. Good work team!
Four new staff in three months?? Call us crazy, but we couldn’t pass up these lovely lot.
And now you can see why!
