A Social Media Strategy is so important for any business looking to use social media within their business. I am sure many of you that have had a strategy in place have been reaping the rewards this year.
Many businesses that just set up Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and other social media accounts throw the towel in within a month because they struggle with content and don’t see any immediate results from their hard work. Why? Because they don’t have a social media strategy.
One of the easiest ways we get businesses to think about how social media can work in your business is asking them this question ‘what do you want to achieve with your social media activity?’.
From this question, we can help drill down into what social media success looks like. Here are three very simple examples where we have helped clients this year:
- By training a large service provider’s call centre we were able to help them reduce the online negative sentiment they were receiving and allow their clients to contact them for support via Twitter. This enabled the service provider to reduce their recruitment costs, impart their staff with another skill and keep their clients happy.
- Through LinkedIn training, a large architecture firm won a pitch to a client they had previously been trying to work with for years. Without LinkedIn, this wouldn’t have happened.
- A natural health brand wanted to increase their online awareness through bloggers. We helped them target these using Twitter, within a week of starting this campaign they had received two lots of coverage from key influential bloggers.
As you can see, it’s not just about being on social media, it’s about using these serious business tools with a key focus.
